KHANKALA, July 6 (AVN) - Federal policemen carried out eight search and preventive operations in Chechnya on Thursday, detaining 10 confirmed rebels and 16 suspected ones, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department in the troubled region told the Military News Agency.
The police seized 11 grenade launchers, 19 assault rifles, 16 home-made explosive devices, 103 shells and mines, 85 hand grenades, 4kg of explosives and over 10,000 cartridges, the spokesman said.
So-called brigadier general Khalid Dadayev, ex-head of the transport police department in Chechnya's Sheriat Security Ministry, was detained in Grozny. He had on him fake documents in the moment of detention. Dadayev is suspected of kidnapping four people and committing several other crimes.
Officers of the department for combating economic crimes busted a brigadier of the Znamensky state farm, who embezzled 54 agricultural vehicles. Collected data was provided to investigation bodies for initiation of a criminal case.
