MOSCOW, July 17 (AVN) - Representatives of the CIS Collective Security Treaty member nations will meet here on Tuesday at 11.00 Moscow time (0700 GMT), head of the Collective Security Council press service Viktor Yarunin told the Military News Agency.
The meeting will be chaired by the council's deputy secretary Gennady Zaitsev. Its main aim is to consider implementation of the decisions made at the council session in Yerevan on May 25 this year. The representatives will discuss information backing of the council session's main decisions and their explanation to the general public in member nations of the council.
According to Yakunin, the decisions concerning security and collective defence of the treaty's signatories have a long-term prospective. This requires scaling up activities of the council's executive bodies and explaining to the people all important aspects of the decisions.
For this reason the council secretariat is planning to issue a newsletter on various aspects of the council's activity, Yakunin said. Among its main topics will be deployment of the Collective Quick-Response Forces in Central Asia. The forces are to be established by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan by August 1, and their command is to be located in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.
The meeting will involve Vitaly Vorobyov, envoy of the Russian Interior Ministry, who will deliver a presentation on results of the Shaghai Co-operation Organisation's June summit.
