STAVROPOL, July 18 (AVN) - Servicemen of the North Caucasus border guard department detained three violators on Tuesday, a spokesman for the department told the Military News Agency.
A patrol of the Sochi border guard detachment detained Dmitry Brulev, resident of the Abkhazian Dzhirkhva village, who attempted to break through to Russia avoiding checkpoints. After the investigation Brulev was sent back to Abkhazia.
A scouting party of the Khunzakh border guard detachment prevented an attempt at illegal crossing of the Russia-Azerbaijan border by Magomed Akhmalov, resident of Dagestan's Kherukh village located close to the border, at about 21.00 Moscow time (1700 GMT). According to Akhmalov, he wanted to visit his relative living in Azerbaijan's Belokany village which is near the border.
Border guards of the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint detained at 16.30 Moscow time (1230 GMT) Ganzhi Tanzirov, resident of the Manas village of Dagestan's Karabudagkent district, who showed an alien passport while leaving Russia.
Servicemen of the Caspian border guard detachment and Makhachkala territorial department confiscated six boats, eight boat engines and over 3km of nets for fishing sturgeons from poachers.
In general, the situation in the department's area of responsibility remains quite calm. No attacks on Chechen and adjacent sections of the border were registered.
