MOSCOW CITY LAWMAKERS OF CHECK RESULTS OF DEFENCE INDUSTRY PLANT CONVERSION

MOSCOW, July 20 (AVN) - The committee on Moscow defence industry enterprises reform will soon invite members of the Moscow city legislature to the Toriy research and production enterprise, committee chairman Frantishek Kovrigo told the Military News Agency on Friday.

The enterprise was transformed into the South-western research and production centre in summer last year. The delegation's main aim is to analyse the enterprise's work results in 2000.

Under the law approved by the Moscow city legislature, the enterprises that have a special status are exempted from local taxes on enterprises' property, maintenance of the housing fund and social and cultural installations if they are engaged in economic activities, Kovrigo said.

The centre has been carrying out successful research and production of medical equipment for many years. The work is needed for Moscow, Russia and foreign customers of the centre, Kovrigo said. "We will fully help the centre as good as we can so it could become a waymark for others," he stressed.

The centre has top priority achievements in several research and technical spheres. Particularly, they include powerful wide-range multipath klystrons with reverse magnet focalisation, heavy-duty amplifier magnetrons, including those with non-modulator control, high-frequency gyrotrons of millimetre range with the capacity of 1mW in the continuous mode, impulse hydroklystrons of millimetre range, double-mode travelling-wave lamps and original regulating lamps.
