PUTIN TO MEET HIGH-RANKING MILITARY OFFICIALS IN KREMLIN MONDAY

MOSCOW, July 23 (AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Kremlin on Monday a number of military leaders due to their promotion and appointment to new posts, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.

The ceremony will take place at the Alexandrovsky hall of the Great Kremlin Palace on midday and will involve Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov, Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin, Space Troops Commander Anatoly Perminov, Strategic Missile Forces Commander Nikolai Solovtsov, First Deputy Navy Commander Admiral Mikhail Zakharenko, Pacific Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Gennady Suchkov, Lieutenant General Nikolai Pankov, head of the Defence Ministry HR department, Moscow Military District Commander Colonel General Ivan Yefremov and several other high-ranking officers.

Ivanov will also introduce at 15.00 Moscow time (1100 GMT) to the Defence Ministry board and leadership of the main HR department and main international military co-operation department Pankov and Lieutenant General Anatoly Mazurkevich who were appointed heads of those departments by Putin on July 12 this year.
