KALININGRAD, July 23 (AVN) - As many as 3,636 artillery shells made in Germany during World War II were found in the Pavlovo village in the Kaliningrad region during the earthmoving works at the 72192 military base of the Baltic Fleet, a spokesman for the regional Emergencies Ministry department said on Monday.
Sappers of the fleet transported to a proving range and blasted 2,130 shells and 300 powder charges since Sunday, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. The rest of those ammo is located at the guarded territory and all training carried out at the range is stopped due to the shells defusing.
