71 GRENADE LAUNCHER ROUNDS SEIZED ON TAJIK-AFGHAN BORDER

DUSHANBE, July 24 (AVN) - Russian border guards of the Khorog detachment confiscated 71 rounds with fragmentation grenades for the SPG-9 grenade launcher in their area of responsibility on Monday, a spokesman for the Russian border guard group in Tajikistan told the Military news Agency.

The rounds were delivered to the detachment headquarters for destruction.

Servicemen have also found another cache with ammo for the SPG-9 grenade launcher since Sunday. Earlier they confiscated 41 rounds for the SPG-9 antitank grenade launcher.

According to the republic's law-enforcers, the rounds were stocked for terrorist groups attempting to penetrate into Central Asia.
