MOSCOW, July 24 (AVN) - Military hospitals of the North Caucasus military districts, as well as hospitals of Moscow, are treating about 2,500 servicemen who have been wounded, injured or stricken by a disease since the outbreak of the second Chechnya war, Colonel General Ivan Chizh, head of the main military medicine department, said on Tuesday.
Over 90 percent of servicemen who received gunshot wounds, combat traumas, burns and frostbites have returned to the ranks, Chizh told the Military News Agency. Only 2.2 percent of servicemen are retiring due to disability and 1.5 percent dying of combat wounds.
