MOSCOW MILITARY DISTRICT TAKING CONTROL OVER RF PEACEKEEPERS IN KOSOVO

MOSCOW, July 24 (AVN) - A commission of the Moscow military district arrived in the Kosovo airport of Slatina on Tuesday to define specific dates of the peacekeeping functions transfer from the Airborne troops to the Land Forces, a spokesman for the district headquarters told the Military News Agency.

The commission is led by the district's deputy chief-of-staff, Major General Vasily Krotov, the spokesman said. It will work in Kosovo until August 2 to draft specific proposals concerning the transfer of the command over the Russian contingent within KFOR from the Airborne troops to the Moscow district.
