BORDER GUARDS BATTLE TWO VIOLATORS ON TAJIK-AFGHAN BORDER

DUSHANBE, July 25 (AVN) - A Russian border guard patrol engaged two violators attempting to break through from Afghanistan into Tajikistan at 0.35 local time on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Russian border guard group in Tajikistan told the Military News Agency.

The violators fired at the patrol of the Moscow border guard detachment from small arms. At the same time the border guards were attacked from Afghanistan. After the reserve arrived both firing points were suppressed and the violators escaped to Afghanistan under the cover of night and brushes of cane.

No casualties were registered in the engagement and an assault rifle with cartridges was found at the site in the morning. The border guards are searching for violators.
