ATOMIC ENERGY MINISTRY TO HOLD CONFERENCE ON RESTRICTED-ACCESS LOCATIONS

MOSCOW, July 26 (AVN) - The Ministry of Atomic Energy has decided to hold an industrial conference on problems of restricted-access locations in the town of Zlatoust-36 (now Tryokhgorny), Alexander Makarenko, deputy director of the ministry's department for social policy, industrial relations and personnel, said on Thursday.

The conference scheduled for September 26 will involve officials of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Finance, other interested ministries and agencies, and heads of the Atomic Energy Ministry's enterprises forming restricted-access locations, Makarenko told the Military News Agency.

The locations must get priority financing from the federal budget due to importance of their missions, Svetlana Gvozdeva, deputy chairman of the committee for economic policy and entrepreneurship in the State Duma lower house of parliament, told the Agency. A programme of the locations' social and economic development for 2001 to 2004 has been submitted to the Russian government for approval, she said.
