MOSCOW, July 26 (AVN) - A regular session of the Russian Security Council chaired by President Vladimir Putin takes place here in the Kremlin.
The session participants discuss the prospects of the Kaliningrad region development. Viktor Cherkesov, Putin's envoy to the North-western federal district, delivered main report on the problem.
Speaking on the solution of social and economic problems of the region and its development prospects, Cherkesov said that it was impossible to isolate the region especially taking into account the NATO plans on forthcoming widespread and increase of the European Union members.
The council members agreed to make a number of decisions aimed at multisided development of the region's economy and social sphere.
