MOSCOW, July 27 (AVN) - The second military train with heavy combat equipment and armament of the Russian airborne peacekeepers left Bosnia's Bielina terminal for Russia early on Friday, a spokesman for the Airborne Staff told the Military News Agency.
The train comprises about 20 airborne fighting vehicles, automobiles and covered carriages with ammunition. It is heading for Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow region.
The withdrawal of the heavy combat equipment is being carried out in accordance with a directive of Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin in the framework of the 1st separate airborne brigade's transformation into the 22nd paratrooper regiment, which is the part of the SFOR international stabilisation force in Bosnia. The withdrawal began on Tuesday and will continue till the end of the month. A total of three trains with 60 pieces of heavy combat equipment such as BMD-1 and BMD-2 airborne fighting vehicles and Nona self-propelled artillery systems, as well as 50 automobiles and more than 20t ammunition are to leave for Russia.
The first military train with equipment which left the Balkans on Tuesday is to arrive at Orekhovo-Zuyevo approximately on July 30, said the spokesman. The withdrawal of the combat equipment by trains is carried out according to the schedule.
