SEVASTOPOL, July 27 (AVN) - The Sevastopol Officers House hosted a solemn meeting devoted to Navy Day on Friday, a spokesman for the Black Sea Fleet headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The forthcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Leonid Kuchma envisages special responsibility for Sevastopol and the Black Sea Fleet, the spokesman said. A dress rehearsal of the naval parade and water sports festival took place in the city on Thursday. The event was attended by thousands of city residents and visitors, as the number of tickets for the parade is limited.
The parade is timed to Navy Day that is celebrated in Russia on July 29.
