ROST 2001 SHOW TO TAKE PLACE IN EASTERN EUROPEAN RUSSIA AUGUST 8-10

IZHEVSK, Eastern European Russia, July 30 (AVN) - The ROST 2001 3rd all-Russian show will take place here on August 8 to 10, a spokesman for the show's organisers committee told the Military News Agency on Monday.

Among the organisers are the Udmurtian autonomous republic government, Izhmash JS and local arms plant. Almost 20 enterprises from various Russian regions will participate in the exhibition.

The show will be visited by Alexander Nozdrachev, director general of the Russian Conventional Arms Agency, Udmurtian Republic President Alexander Volkov, Yuri Pitkevich, chairman of the republic's government, Izhmash Director General Vladimir Grodetsky, Russian legendary arms producer Mikhail Kalashnikov and heads of leading Russian arms plants.

The town of Izhevsk which is established in 1807 on the basis of the arms plant is famous for its significant arms producers such as Fyodor Tokarev, Sergei Simonov, Mikhail Kalashnikov, Yevgeny Dragunov, Gennady Nikonov. Recently the powerful scientific arms tradition was established in the town. The town itself is getting the status of exhibition place for Russian arms.
