MOSCOW, July 30 (AVN) - Lieutenant-General Anatoly Zolotaryov was appointed head of the Far Eastern federal district main police department, the Military News Agency learned on Monday.
Zolotaryov knows the region well and thoroughly studied regional criminal processes, main criminal groups and main criminal groups. Those abilities will help him to co-ordinate work of the district law-enforcement agencies on elimination of organised criminal groups, said one of the high ranking Interior Ministry officials commenting the general's appointment.
Zolotaryov was born in the Korsakovo village of the Amur region in 1949. He spent only eight years out of the region being in active duty for two years and studying in the Gorkiy police college and the Interior Ministry Academy for six years. In 1973 he began to work as inspector of the department for combating social property embezzlement in the central district of the city of Khabarovsk. Zolotaryov became head of the department for combating social property embezzlement in the Khabarovsk territory 12 years later. After graduation from the Interior Ministry Academy he became deputy and then first deputy head of the territory police department, and in 1997 he became head of that department.
