FEDS DETAIN LOCAL RESIDENT WITH MAKAROV PISTOL IN CHECHNYA'S GROZNY

KHANKALA, July 31 (AVN) - An F-1 booby trap was found and defused at a tram station in Grozny on Monday, an on-duty serviceman of the Grozny central commandant's office told the Military News Agency.

No attacks and no blasts were registered in Grozny overnight to Tuesday, the spokesman said. No accidents took place on Monday as well.

During the search operations federal servicemen confiscated six under-barrel grenade launcher rounds, an equipped portable grenade launcher and 150 7.62mm cartridges. A local resident with a Makarov pistol was detained at a strongpoint during control operations. Currently he is being checked on relations with rebel groups.
