TBILISI, July 31 (AVN) - The Georgian Tbilaviastroi aircraft enterprise will take part in the MAKS 2001aircraft show that is to open on August 14, Gocha Goguadze, chief engineer of the enterprise, told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
The enterprise received an invitation after the successful demonstration of the SU-25 Frogfoot mass production attack plane modernised together with the Elbit Systems Ltd company of Israel at the Le Bourget show in June. The modernised SU-25 plane has sophisticated radio electronic equipment allowing to use it day and night and in the most difficult weather conditions.
According to Goguadze, Russian colleagues from the Sukhoi design bureau are to show the Georgin producers their modernisation variant of the SU-25 plane which will be exhibited at the MAKS 2001 show. Officials of both enterprises are discussing possibility of establishment of a joint enterprise for modernisation of the SU series attack planes.
