KHABAROVSK, August 1 (AVN) - During his visit to Russian Far East and Siberia Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov met several officials in Khabarovsk.
Particularly, Ivanov met Colonel General Yuri Yakubov, commander of the Far Eastern military district, Khabarovsk Region Governor Viktor Ishayev, leaders of administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy to the Far Eastern federal district. During the meetings the officials discussed the military district's current situation, support to the district troops and their combat readiness.
Ivanov flew to Chita, southern Siberia, at 10.00 Moscow time (0600 GMT) to meet Leonid Drachevsky, Putin's envoy to the Siberian federal district, Siberian Military District Commander Colonel General Vladimir Boldyrev and officials of the Chita region administration. During the meetings they are to discuss the problems of the region and units stationed in the Far Eastern and Siberian military district.
