ROSTOV-ON-DON, August 2 (AVN) - Three batteries of the Osa self-propelled air defence missile system from the SAM missile regiment of the 58th general army completed live firing at a testing ground in Ashuluk, Astrakhan region, a spokesman for the North Caucasus military district headquarters said on Thursday.
In spite of complicated weather conditions the crews successfully hit with three missiles two moving Saman air targets, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.
According to Colonel General Vladimir Bulgakov, acting commander of the district, all air defence units of the North Caucasus military district will complete practical live firing by the end of training period. The needed finance for the operations is provided and no postponement will take place. The training of air defence units and formations of the district is progressing in accordance with the schedule, Bulgakov said.
