KIEV, August 3 (AVN) - Georgian Chief-of-Staff Dzhoni Pirtskhalaishvili who is visiting Kiev will discuss with the Ukrainian Defence Ministry leadership the possibility of Georgian combat equipment repairs at the Ukrainian defence enterprises, a spokesman for the ministry said on Friday.
Earlier the Georgian combat equipment was modernised at the Tbilisi tank-repairing plant of the Russian troops groups in the Trans-Caucasus, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.
The Georgian military delegation will visit the Darnitsky tank-repairing plant, study equipment and armament of the 41st Ukrainian air defence training centre in Kalinovka, Desna 169th Ukrainian Land Forces testing centre and 1st Ukrainian president separate regiment.
The delegation will also discuss Ukraine's participation in production of combat vessels for Georgian naval borders security. Ukraine already handed to Georgia in mid-90s a guard ship which became the first combat vessel of the Georgian Navy. Moreover, both parties will co-ordinate the participation of their Armed Forces in peacekeeping exercises and possible co-operation when accomplishing peacekeeping missions.
