FED BORDER GUARD SERVICE CHIEF HOLDS SESSION IN KHABAROVSK

KHABAROVSK, August 8 (AVN) - Federal Border Guard Service (FBGS) Director Konstantin Totsky handed on Wednesday a personal standard to Colonel General Alexander Golbakh, chief of the Far Eastern regional department of the FBGS.

During the ceremony Totsky said that the Far Eastern border guards faced important tasks which accomplishment is directly related to provision of the border and economic security in Russia. The director also held a session in the department's headquarters where the participants discussed the situation on the border and reform of the department.

Totsky also met on Wednesday Khabarovsk Mayor Alexander Sokolov, officials of the Khabarovsk region administration and administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy to the Far Eastern federal district. Totsky will observe a strap of the Russian-Chinese border, visit the local Military Institute of the FBGS and local shipyard which produces and modernises border guard vessels.

Totsky will return to Moscow on Thursday.
