DUSHANBE, August 8 (AVN) - A lieutenant colonel of the Tajik Interior Ministry was injured when detaining a habitual criminal in the north-eastern part of the republic, a spokesman for the ministry's headquarters told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
Abduvakhid Khamdamov, bodyguard of criminal group leader Mansur Muakkalov, threw a hand grenade in policemen and as a result the officer was injured.
Muakkalov himself and his four supporters were killed overnight to July 22 during the police operation on elimination of illegal armed group headed by Muakkalov and Rakhmon Sanginov. The search of Sanginov is underway.
