MOSKVA MISSILE CRUISER UNDERGOING TRAINING FOR VOYAGE IN MEDITERRANEAN SEA

SEVASTOPOL, August 9 (AVN) - The Moskva Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship and guard missile cruiser left Sevastopol for Novorossiysk to check main systems and mechanisms under the auspices of preparation for the next voyage to the Mediterranean Sea, a spokesman for the Black Sea Fleet headquarters told the Military News Agency on Thursday.

The ship is under the flag of Black Sea Fleet Chief-of-Staff Vice Admiral Alexander Tarinov. The crew is to check mechanisms, arms and equipment of the cruiser in different mobile regimes, volumes of oil and lubricants, readiness of the ship's communication and alarm systems and rescue means.

The plan of the Moskva cruiser voyage with the Russian government delegation on board envisages friendly visits to the French port Canny where the Moscow delegation will take part in the Days of Russian Culture on the Cote d'Azur. The delegation will also visit the Toulon French Navy base, the La Gullet Tunisian port and the Brindisi Italian port.

The voyage will start on August 19 and the cruiser will return to Sevastopol in September.
