TBILISI, August 10 (AVN) - Military observers from Georgia are invited to Lithuania for the Amber Hope traditional multifunctional training, a spokesman for the Georgian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency on Friday.
Officials of three CIS countries such as Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, together with Georgian military will watch these large-scale manoeuvres, said the spokesman.
The training will be held on military testing grounds in Lithuania from August 29 to September 6. Units of the Lithuanian Territory Guard Ministry as well as 3,000 servicemen from 14 NATO countries and candidate states of this alliance will take part in the training.
Such training has been held in Lithuania since 1997. First Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark and Poland took part in the Amber Hope training. This time army formations of Great Britain, Germany Italy, Canada, the USA, Sweden and other countries will be included in the manoeuvre for the first time.
The Baltic States Baltbat and the Lithuanian-Polish Lithpolbat international battalions will take part in the training. Besides, a joint separate battalion consisting of Armed Forces officials of Lithuania, Great Britain, Italy and the USA will be manned by the beginning of the training.
