MOSCOW, August 13 (AVN) - The OSCE programmes on peaceful residents' rehabilitation in Chechnya only cover a small part of the population, mostly children, Aleksandru Kornya, head of the OSCE assistance group in the Chechen republic, told a news conference here on Monday.
The OSCE assistance group that is working in Chechnya on a permanent basis is at the stabilisation stage and can only ensure implementation of four to five programmes, Kornya said. They primarily cover medical, psychological and social rehabilitation of children affected by the armed conflicts. The OSCE is paying to psychologists operating in kindergartens of the Znamenskoye village where some 200 children are educated.
The assistance groups also provides sports clothes and equipment to kindergartens and schools. Allocations for those purposes are inconsiderable and do not exceed EUR100,000 a year, Kortnya said. As the group enhances its activities the sum will grow several times.
"The (federal) military command always provides necessary assistance in convoying motorcades with humanitarian cargoes," the group leader stressed.
