RF PEACEKEEPERS CONFISCATE SEVEN PIECES OF SMALL ARMS IN KOSOVO

SLATINA, Kosovo, August 14 (AVN) - Russian peacekeepers serving within KFOR started patrolling the area near the Zhur village in Sector South sector close to the Macedonian and Albanian borders on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Russian Military Contingent headquarters said on Tuesday.

Servicemen of the 12th, 13th and 14th task forces have already confiscated seven pieces of small arms and a large amount of ammo from residents of the Komriane and Brnaca villages. The 12th task force personnel is checking vehicles near the Velika-Hocha and Suva-Reka villages.

The 12th task force is undergoing service at four constant and two temporary control posts as well as 10 patrolling routes. The 13th task force has nine control posts, four observation posts and 24 patrolling routes while the 14th task force has two control posts, three patrolling routes and a strongpoint near the Devic monastery. The task forces are led by commanders of the KFOR multinational brigades through communication and co-ordination groups under their headquarters.
