MOSCOW, August 17 (AVN) - The CIS Defence Ministers Council has postponed its next session from late August to November 25, Colonel Vladimir Petrenko, chief of the council secretariat, said on Friday.
The session to be chaired by Russia's Sergei Ivanov will take place in Moscow and will be devoted to the 10th anniversary of the commonwealth's establishment, Petrenko told the Military News Agency.
The CIS defence ministers will meet in late August anyway, for they will attend live firing of the CIS Unified Air Defence System's joint forces in the Astrakhan region. The firing is a part of the Combat Commonwealth 2001 exercise. It will take place at the Ashuluk testing ground under command of Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov.
