TWO REBELS DETAINED IN CHECHNYA'S GUDERMES DISTRICT

KHANKALA, August 20 (AVN) - Agents of the Federal Security Service (FSB) department in Chechnya and local policemen detained two full-time members of rebel groups Rizvan Mutuyev and Vakhid Shamurzayev near the Belorechye village in Chechnya's Gudermes district, a spokesman for the department told the Military News Agency on Monday.

The law-enforcers confiscated a 9mm home-made assault rifle, a Makarov pistol and an RGD-5 hand-grenade from the detainees. It is found out that Shamurzayev was a member of the rebel group led by earlier detained Mikhidi Timirbulatov. The detainees are under investigation at the moment, the spokesman said.

According to the FSB data, secret services and other law-enforcement agencies confiscated 10 grenade launchers, a Shmel flame thrower, an assault rifle, a pistol, four antitank mines and two hand grenades in the breakaway republic over the past 24 hours.
