MOSCOW MILITARY DISTRICT'S BATTALION TASK FORCES TO HOLD ROTATION IN CHECHNYA

MOSCOW, August 21 (AVN) - Russian Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin ordered to hold in mid-September rotation of battalion task forces of the Moscow military district operating within the unified federal group in Chechnya, a spokesman for the district headquarters said on Tuesday.

Currently in Chechnya there are battalion task forces of the 15th and 245th motorised rifle regiments, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.

The task forces will be replaced by those of the 752nd motorised rifle regiment which is from the Mulino garrison of the Nizhny Novgorod region and 6th motorised rifle regiment from the Kursk garrison. All servicemen in those task forces underwent special training aimed at carrying out missions in the forest covered mountains. The new battalion task forces are supposed to be responsible for the territory near the Urus-Martan and Dzhugurty villages.
