MOSCOW, August 21 (AVN) - A British military inspection group will start monitoring several Russian military installations on Tuesday in accordance with the Open Skies Treaty, a spokesman for the National Centre for Nuclear Threat Reduction under the Russian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.
The 18-strong group is led by Colonel Mack Kennedy. It will inspect installations in European Russia using the local AN-30B Clank observation plane fitted with optical and aerial photography equipment.
The plane will take off from the Kubinka airfield in the Moscow region. The inspectors will be accompanied by an official of the Nuclear Threat Reduction Centre, Colonel Sergei Ashurov.
The inspection is to end on Friday.
