BORDER CROSSING REGIME TO BE STREAMLINED AT RUSSIA-GEORGIA FRONTIER SECTION

TBILISI, August 21 (AVN) - Georgia and Russia have agreed to streamline the border crossing regime for residents of Georgia's Kazbegi district and Russia's North Ossetian autonomous republic, a spokesman for the Georgian Foreign Ministry told the Military News Agency.

Starting from Wednesday Georgian and Russian citizens permanently residing in the above-mentioned areas will be able to cross the border through the Kazbegi-Verkhny Lars checkpoint without visas. They will be allowed to stay outside their native countries for 10 days. These persons can cross they border if they have an ID an the paper from local police bodies confirming their residence in North Ossetia or the Kazbegi district.
