KALININGRAD, August 21 (AVN) - The defence order placed with enterprises of the Kaliningrad region has been increased this year, a spokesman for the regional administration told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
The spokesman declined to disclose the total value of the order, but noted that two TU-22M3 Backfire long-range bombers arrived for repairs at the Lyublino aircraft repairing plant on Monday. The plant has repaired several such planes this year.
The value of works to be done by the Baltic Fleet's 94th automobile repairing plant is estimated at RUR18m (USD612,950). The plant repairs UAZ, GAZ, ZIL and Volga automobiles. Besides, RUR90m (USD3.06m) were allocated to the Yantar shipyard for construction of the Novik new-generation destroyer.
