MOSCOW, August 21 (AVN) - The Russian Air Forces will get equipment sets for holding the first stage of SU-30KN and SU-27UBM Flanker fighters modernisation in accordance with the agreements that are being finalised at the monent, Director General of the Russian Avionics JSC Mikhail Korzhuyev told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
The parties are negotiating on the price of the equipment, Korzhuyev said.
There is an act on completion of SU-30KN plane tests which contains minor claims of the customer to the fighter's flight and technical specifications. The claims will be met in the near future, Korzhuyev stressed. Most results of the SU-30KN test will be considered true for the SU-27UBM trainer, for the two planes have the same set of modernised on-board equipment.
At present two SU-27 and two SU-30 planes are modernised and the works were financed by the Irkustsk Aircraft Production Association (IAPO). The SU-27UBM plane is considered very promising, for the Russian Air Force has a lot of SU-27UB planes and less than 10 SU-30s. Moreover, almost 50 SU-27UBK will be supplied to China and will have to undergo modernisation some time later. During the recent night-time tests SU-27UBM successfully hit targets using FAB-250 and FAB-500 unguided bombs. Deviation was equal to zero during the first approach and made 10 metres during the second approach.
Thanks to co-operation with the IAPO Korzhuyev's company finally had a chance to plan its prospective activities more precisely. This is mostly because the association has a powerful system of R&D and tests.
Next year Russian Avionics will concentrate creating on-board equipment for complex interaction of all armed services. Among the promising spheres of activity will be production of arms control systems for combat planes, making equipment for radars and missiles. The latter sphere has a share of the company's activities only as far as modernisation is concerned, Korzhuyev added.
