MOSCOW, August 22 (AVN) - Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo left for Kiev on a working visit on Wednesday, a spokesman for the secretary's administration told the Military News Agency.
Rushailo was invited to Kiev by Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council Yevgeny Marchuk. The visit takes place in accordance with the protocol on co-operation between administrations of the two councils.
The two officials are planning to discuss a number of issues related to co-operation of the two countries in the sphere of regional and common security. Rushailo will take part in celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
There are thousands of ties between Russian and Ukraine, said Rushailo before his departure from Moscow. "The fates of our peoples are united by the common historical background, common spiritual and moral values. We are happy to know that all-sided interaction between our countries has increased the pace of development lately. It is remarkable that the presidents of our countries give powerful impulses to thorough expansion of the Russian-Ukrainian co-operation. High intensity of the effective contacts between the tow leaders inspires efficient co-operation of our governments, ministries and administrations. Administrations of the Russian and Ukrainian Security Councils are doing the same," the secretary said.
The future summit of the Russian and Ukrainian presidents in Kiev will doubtlessly become a new milestone on the way of development of mutually profitable co-operation, Rushailo stressed.
The secretary's visit to Ukraine will last until Friday.
