MOSCOW, August 23 (AVN) - The 13th tank regiment of the 4th guard Kantemirov division started the field phase of a regiment-level tactical exercise at the Alabino testing ground in the Moscow region on Thursday, a spokesman for the Moscow military district headquarters told the Military News Agency.
One battalion, firing on the move, broke through the manoeuvre enemy's defence. It was supported by two MI-24 Hind helicopters. Commanders of other units organic of the division are accomplishing tactical missions on maps. The exercise is supervised by Major General Yevgeny Fuzhenko, commander of the Kantemirov division.
Another unit of the division, the 423th guard Yampol motorised rifle regiment, completed practising IFV operation afloat on Thursday. A demonstrative training was held on August 18, and all IFV drivers of the regiment mastered this element of combat training from Monday to Thursday. IFV operation afloat is considered among the most complicated training elements.
