NOVOCHERKASSK, Rostov Region, August 23 (AVN) - The production of a trainer for submariners started in the Don affiliate of the trainer-building centre at the request from the Rubin naval equipment design bureau, the affiliate's chief engineer Alexander Gorepekin told the Military News Agency on Thursday.
Computer graphics will be the basis of the trainer. Compartments and armament, as well control, metering and other equipment of the virtual vessel are completely identical to those of real submarines. All standard and non-standard situations which can happen when navigating a submarine, launching a torpedo, missile, etc. can be made up with the help of the trainer. The system is also capable to fake all noise effects which happen in combat conditions.
The trainer is being produced together with specialists of the Southern Russian state technical university.
