RUSSIA'S NEW COMBAT-TRAINING PLANES STILL BEING TESTED -- AIR FORCE

MOSCOW. August 24 (AVN) - The press service of the Russian Air Force made a statement on Friday to clear out possible misunderstanding of Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov's earlier statement on development of MIG-AT and YAK-130 combat and training planes.

Tests of both planes are underway, the press service said. Designers are working to eliminate the aircraft's shortcomings and make them meet requirements of the Air Force. Later the planes will be tested in the State Flight Testing Centre in the town of Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan region. After that, their serial production will be launched.

Several mass media outlets did not understand Kornukov's statement correctly and published articles based on erroneous information.
