KHANKALA, August 28 (AVN) - Federal units carrying out special operations have detained three members of warlord Rabbani's rebel gang subordinate to notorious warlord Khattab, a spokesman for the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Chechnya told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
Saifutdin Ibragimov, Khanpasha Kulayev and Ilkor Zagidulin were detained during search operations in the Alleroi, Tsotsin-Yurt and Kurchaloi villages. During the interrogation the detainees disclosed the location of two basic and three temporary rebel camps. In order to check the obtained data artillery and aviation fired shells and dropped bombs on the indicated areas. As a result five rebels were killed and three wounded in one of temporary camps.
A large rebel group came under fire in a basic camp near the Ersenoi village of the Vedeno district, intelligence reports said. As a result 20 rebels were killed and many injured. The data was confirmed by radio interception, as the group commander said on radio that he had to finish off wounded mercenaries for having no time to take to a safe place.
