GROZNY, August 29 (AVN) - A Zhiguli car touched off a landmine on a motorway near the Voskresenovskoye village of Chechnya's Shelkovsky district on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department in the breakaway region told the Military News Agency.
Two local residents who were riding in the car received grave injuries and died on the spot, the spokesman said.
Rebels fired small arms and grenade launchers at a group of composite detachment policemen and servicemen of the Interior Ministry troops in the same district overnight to Wednesday, the spokesman went on. The federals came under fire in the outskirts of the Paruboch village. Two policemen were killed and three more injured in the engagement. Two locals were detained on suspicion of taking part in the attack.
