MOSCOW, August 29 (AVN) - Federals scaled up radio suppression in Chechnya and fully disrupted radio traffic among guerrillas for several hours on Wednesday morning, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.
Local rebels have gone on the air 43 times and foreign mercenaries 32 times in the Chechen territory in the past 24 hours, the spokesman said. Radio traffic was the most intense among gangs led by Khattab and Abu al Valid near the villages of Serzhen-Yurt, Oktyabrsky, Starye Atagi, Chiri-Yurt and Urus-Martan.
Thanks to radio interception federals found and destroyed two ambushes overnight to Wednesday. One was set up on the highway between the localities of Argun and Mesker-Yurt and the other on the road between the Chechen-Aul village and Grozny.
