Khankala, September 4 (AVN) - Law-enforcers of Dagestan's Kazbek district and local servicemen have detained six unidentified people crossing the Chechnya-Dagestan administrative border near the Burtunai village, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters said on Tuesday.
Among the detainees was one woman, who was identified as Berugla Razi-Nazar Shariyeva, also known in Chechnya as Fatima, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. Fatima is involved in several crimes, including participation in combat operations against federal forces.
Federals detained 10 people in Chechnya's Novye Atagi village on Monday, the spokesman said. The detainees are suspected of staging a series of terrorist acts. A total of 48 suspected rebels have been detained in the North Caucasus this month.
Intelligence reports say that rebels have started to abandon Chechnya's Kurchaloi district. The military claim that this is due to full-scale federal operations in the district. Guerrillas are trying to find shelter at their bases in the Nozhai-Yurt district and Dagestani villages adjacent to Chechnya, for instance, in the localities of Tukhchar and Chapayevo.
