Moscow, September 5 (AVN) - Agents of the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Chechnya detained wanted district emir Sayed-Magomed Tuzurkayev and Wahhabi activist Ilyas Musayev during search operations overnight to Wednesday, a spokesman for the Security Service told the Military News Agency.
Another rebel wounded in the shootout managed to escape. It turned out during further search operations that he had died of wounds. The man was identified as Ayan Khazhiyev, full-scale rebel and author of several sabotage and terrorist acts.
Two FSB agents were wounded during the detention, said the spokesman. A Makarov pistol was confiscated from the site of the engagement. Agents searching the houses of the detainees seized archive materials and stamps of the so-called Ichkeria sheriat security department, Wahhabi literature, as well as documents for the estate earlier owned by ethnic Russian residents of Gudermes.
Security agents destroyed several rebel caches in the Syuzh village of the Shatoi district on Wednesday. The caches contained two aviation bombs, two RPG-26 grenade-launchers, 11 grenade launcher rounds, 15 flame-throwers, an anti-personnel mine, one home-made explosive device and 18 electric detonators.
