RUSSIAN PACIFIC FLEET VESSEL TO MAKE UNOFFICIAL VISIT TO JAPAN SEPT. 11-15

Vladivostok, September 6 (AVN) - The Admiral Tributs large anti-submarine ship will leave for the Japanese port of Sasebo on an unofficial friendly visit on Saturday, a spokesman for the Pacific Fleet headquarters told the Military News Agency.

The sixth visit of Russian sailors will take place on September 11 to 15 under the supervision of the fleet's chief-of-staff Vice Admiral Viktor Fyodorov. Its itinerary includes several meetings between Fyodorov and the Japanese Naval Self-Defence Forces command during which they are to exchange opinions on the the state and prospects of bilateral naval co-operation development.

Russian and Japanese sailors will hold a joint training aimed at searching and rescuing a vessel in distress on September 15.
