Stavropol, September 6 (AVN) - Servicemen of the North Caucasus border guard department detained three violators on Wednesday, a spokesman for the department told the Military News Agency.

A patrol of the Khunzakh border guard detachment detained two Russian citizens who were crossing the border after noon, the spokesman said. The detainees turned to be residents of the Kalug village in the Dagestan autonomous republic. They told border guards that they were heading for their relatives who lived just across the frontier.

Later in the day border guards of the Vladikavkaz detained an Armenian citizen who tried to leave Russia bypassing a checkpoint.

The Caspian border guard detachment delivered to checkpoints two Progress boats abandoned by poachers. The detachment commander ordered to dismantle Yamaha-40 engines from the boats and keep them until owners show up.

In general, the situation in the area controlled by the North Caucasus department remains relatively calm, the spokesman said. No attacks on border pickets and checkpoints have been registered on the Chechen and adjacent border sections.
