RUSSIA, ARMENIA READY TO SIGN MILITARY CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT

Yerevan, September 7 (AVN) - The Armenian government endorsed on Friday the draft agreement on co-operation between the Russian and Armenian Defence Ministries, a government spokesman told the Military News Agency on Friday.

The draft agreement had been co-ordinated with Russia, the spokesman said. According to participants of the government session, it will give Armenia the possibility to preserve its military potential and make progress in creation of the research and technical base necessary for solving national security problems.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov is to arrive in Yerevan as part of the state delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin on September 13.
