Stavropol, September 7 (AVN) - An interdepartmental group started analysing all issues connected with creation of a specialised centre for studying religious (Islamic) extremism and terrorism in the Stavropol territory, a spokesman for the territory prosecutor's office told the Military News Agency on Friday.
The group consists of representatives of the territory prosecutor's office, regional departments of the Interior Ministry, Federal Security Service, the governor's administration and the territory's legislature.
The necessity to create the centre is caused by a complicated criminal situation in the area, where 12 terrorist acts have happened in the past two years, most causing numerous victims, said the spokesman.
Materials prepared by the centre are expected to be used by law-enforcement agencies in their work for terrorist acts prevention in the Stavropol territory, said the spokesman.
