Saratov, Volga Region, September 7 (AVN) - The 4th international working session on biotechnological backing of chemical weapons scrapping technologies ended here on Friday.
The session took place under the auspices of the federal purpose-oriented research and technical programme on research and developments on top-priority destinations in the sphere of science and civil purpose equipment development.
During the past two days the session participants heard reports on ecology provision to chemical weapons scrapping, developments of biotechnological methods of the scrapping of detoxication products of vesicant poisonous substances and adamsite poisonous agent. Particularly, the participants stressed that possibilities of biotechnological methods envisaging micro-organisms and plant are not fully used to reprocess stocks and liquid water wastes which are the result of chemical weapons detoxication, disposal of decaying products from soil and water reservoirs.
