MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarussian Defence Minister Leonid Maltsev will make a working visit to Russia on September 18 and 19, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry international military co-operation department told Interfax-Military News Agency.
During the trip Maltsev will meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov, visit the CIS military co-operation co-ordination headquarters and meet its chief Army General Vladimir Yakovlev, the spokesman said.
Maltsev and Ivanov are planning to negotiate on military and military-technical co-operation between the two nations, as well as prospects of military integration under the auspices of the Union of Russia and Belarus. In particular, the ministers will discuss plans of Russian-Belarussian regional group application, transformation of the Russian-Belarussian unified air defence system into a single structure aimed at securing the union's aerial border and implementing the joint armament programme.
