IZHEVSK, Eastern European Russia. Sept 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Izhmash research and production centre of high-precision equipment might enter the holding company of high-precision arms producers which is being established by the Russian Conventional Arms Agency, Izhmash Director General Vladimir Grodetsky told a news conference on Monday.
The centre is a restricted-access enterprise which features all military departments of the Izhmash group of companies. Particularly, it makes several dozens types of high-precision arms such as Krasnopol guided artillery shells which have no analogues. Moreover, the enterprise produces Vikhr anti-tank missiles and GSh-301 aviation cannons mounted on many modern Russian fighters. The majority of those products are put up for export.
The conference is timed to the 15th anniversary of the enterprise.
